よく使う表現
macOSで\[\LaTeX\] macで \[\LaTeX\]（LaTeX）を利用するための設定方法。MacTeX2018で日本語周りが変更になったのに対応。 ghostscriptとmactexはmacOS環境構築でdotfiles を用いてインストール済みのはず。
以下のやり方だとmojave対応できない部分がある模様。TeXWikiの方法で美文書入門（懐かしすぎる）のパッチを使うのが良さそう。
MacTeX 2018 のインストール＆日本語環境構築法 - TeX Alchemist Onlineを参考（丸パクリ）にして作成。(u)pLaTeX + dvipdfmxで日本語文書を出力できるようになる。
Rでの日本語出力あれこれでも利用することになるLaTeX実行環境のmacOSでのセットアップ。まあTeXとしてではなくRStudioからXeLaTeXだけ使う時にどこまで設定が必要なのかはよくわかっていない。少なくともTeX Liveのアップデートまではいるだろうけど。
homebrewでTeXを探すと以下のようなメッセージが出てMacTeXの利用を推奨される

You can install it with Homebrew-Cask:
brew cask install mactexインストール済みの環境のアップデートは
sudo tlmgr update --self --allヒラギノフォントなど商用フォントなどの設定がTLContribに移動したので登録とインストール

sudo tlmgr install japanese-otf-nonfree japanese-otf-uptex-nonfree ptex-fontmaps-macos cjk-gs-integrate-macos/usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/fonts/にmacOSの標準フォント（ヒラギノフォント）のシンボリックリンクが貼られる。
sudo cjk-gs-integrate --link-texmf --cleanup --force
